The design captures the vibrant energy of this popular destination. With all the glitz and glamour that’s associated with the city, a gold sequin dress was an inspiration behind the design. Since the resort was at a beach destination, one very prominent factor in designing the surface was the wind. Like a kinetic sculpture, the surface comprises of multiple metal flaps that move inwards and outwards as the wind blows through the structure’s hollow. This gives the totem a shimmering effect.

The different metal flaps in the hollow alternate between matte, glossy and rough finishes to retain the shimmering effect even in the absence of wind
